hmm, a cis woman needs breast implants or and all she needs to do is go to a surgeons office with enough money and schedule. a lot of people will shame her for it, but that’s really the extent of it. a cis man with gynostigmatism can walk into the doctor’s office and get his breasts removed and no one would blame him for it. hell, a cis man wants to be sterile all he has to do is sign a fucking paper.

but if it’s a trans woman seeking hrt, bottom or top surgery, etc…therapist after therapist, paper after paper, “are you REALLLLLY sure you want me to alleviate your dysphoria?” after “but are you REALLLLLY sure you wanna go through with this?” 

hell, it’s almost impossible for a trans man to get a hysterectomy.

in 2015 i’d like everyone to examine the double standard that exists with trans people seeking healthcare.

Trans woman stabbed in San Francisco

Samantha Hulsey, a 24-year-old trans woman, was stabbed twice in the chest while on a date in San Francisco this weekend. 

Hulsey and her partner Rae Raucci, who is also a trans woman, got on a city bus around 5pm on Saturday when a man started yelling slurs at them and threatening them. They thought he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and noticed he was holding a steak knife. 

They got off the bus to try to run from him, but he chased them down and stabbed Hulsey twice in her upper chest. She said she saw her attacker in handcuffs as she was being loaded into an ambulance.

Hulsey grew up in Savannah, Georgia but recently moved to San Francisco where she has been living openly as a woman.

“I had been bullied and had things thrown at me in Savannah but no one tried to kill me,” she said. “That sort of thing shouldn’t happen here.”

Police said the suspect is in custody but have not released further details about the attack.

Raucci, who is a first-year law student at San Francisco Law School, said the attack was a hate crime.

“He basically said we were offending him,” she said. “Transgender people are a part of the society that some people don’t understand, and what they don’t understand, they fear. It serves to show that violence can show up anywhere.”

Good lord, this is scary. The man’s blade didn’t puncture any organs, so Hulsey was released from the hospital fairly soon after, but we’re still sending her all the good thoughts in the world to recover from something so terrifying.
