foreplay is a heteronormative, patriarchal concept

it is founded on the idea that any sexual contact other then a penis entering a vagina is not sex but something meant to lead up to it

the idea that doing anything to a vagina-owner other than pounding them with your dick is optional and not all that important

the idea that, if a woman does sexual things with you that don’t include your penis going into her, and she decides to not let you put your penis into her, she is a tease because that was all just foreplay, meant to lead up to the “feature event”

“Foreplay” just refers to whatever acts build up sexual desire before sexual activity, so basically whatever comes before the acts that result in an orgasm, which (in case you didn’t know) are not limited to penis-in-vagina sex

I have literally never seen the term used that way.

Also, fixation on orgasm as the end all be all of sex is also problematic for a number of reasons, anyway.

it’s OFTEN used to describe other things done to  a vagina to prepare for PiV sex. I’ve seen it used that way many times. The fact the post is resonating with many people and that it’s defined that way in at least one source shows this is a common use of the term. Just because some people have used the term in another way doesn’t mean that the concept I describe in my post that foreplay is used to describe doesn’t exist. Words can have multiple meanings.
